Veronica M. De La Cruz

Research Scientist

Veronica M De La Cruz, Ph.D., is a Research Scientist supporting the research and development of tools for the measurement of language and literacy. In her first career, she was a certified early interventionist and clinical evaluator. Veronica has since centered her academic career and research on the prevention and early identification of students with reading difficulties. Veronica developed related expertise during her doctoral training. Content areas include special education, early literacy and reading, and services for students who are learning English. Her research interests include exploring the utility of instruments and interventions for both bilingual and non-bilingual children. Dr. De La Cruz joined the Virginia Literacy Partnerships in the fall of 2023 to support ongoing work in these areas.
