Serena Bush is an Education and Outreach Specialist at Virginia Literacy Partnerships (VLP). Serena works in collaboration with the VLP staff to support the implementation of evidence-based literacy practices in Virginia. As a member of the Education and Outreach team, Serena provides professional development and support to teachers, schools, and school districts to effectively assess the literacy skills of PreK – 3rd grade students. As an educator in public and private schools, Serena has served as an elementary teacher, literacy coach and administrator. She is passionate about literacy development, enhancing teacher capacity and effective learning strategies to accommodate a diverse student population including students with learning differences.
