Marianna Lyulchenko, MA is a Senior Research Specialist at the UVA’s Center for Advanced Study of Teaching and Learning (CASTL). She received her Masters from Mills College. At CASTL, Marianna leads teams of assessors collecting direct assessment and observation data in participating classrooms across multiple research efforts. Her interests include identifying the key factors associated with school readiness and long-term school success from early childhood through elementary and beyond. Marianna is regularly engaged in research that collects surveys, direct assessments, standardized test scores, and observational data linked to children and classrooms along with qualitative data from sources such as interviews, focus groups, and extant document reviews.
