Virginia Literacy Act Reviewer Application

Question 1: Describe your education and continued professional development in science-based reading research and evidence-based literacy instruction (paragraph response). 
Question 2: What is your experience in reviewing instructional program materials (core, supplemental, and/or intervention) in K-5 reading? (e.g., Division curriculum review committees, state curriculum reviews, national curriculum reviews, etc.) (paragraph response)
Question 3: The core instructional program review will take place from mid-May to mid-October. The supplemental/intervention review will take place mid-May to July. Please note that appeals may affect all of these timelines by an additional 4 weeks. Training and meetings will take place virtually; most work will be completed independently. We understand the difficulties and time constraints of educators. VLP asks that you maintain your school priorities over this experience. Question 5: Do you have any conflicts of interest that relate to your participation on a Program Review Team?   For example, have you worked for a publisher that has submitted an application, helped to develop a curriculum that was submitted, or work for a school division that has an interest in using or not using a particular submitted curriculum?  We will consider such conflicts when assigning reviewers to curricula; conflicts with individual programs do not, in an of themselves, disqualify a candidate.
